Why We Don’t Potty Train at School
Many parents want their child out of diapers as quickly as possible, and we understand. However, potty training takes time, and every child is different.
Our program focuses on learning, social skills, routines, and development. We do not potty train because it is a partnership that works best at home with consistency, patience, and individual attention. Childcare staff care for many children throughout the day, which makes it difficult to provide the one-on-one support potty training requires.
Why Potty Training Takes Time
- Every child develops at their own pace.
- They need to feel comfortable and ready.
- Accidents are a normal part of the process.
- It requires consistency between home and school.
How Parents Can Help at Home
- Keep a consistent routine.
- Encourage and praise their efforts.
- Be patient and understanding.
- Progress may be slow, but it will happen!
Our Goal
At Alford & Ashe Academy, we want every child to feel confident, successful, and proud of their achievements. When children are ready, they do amazing things — and with your support at home, they will get there!
We’re in this together!
